Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring and recording (controlled watching brief) during groundworks associated with the construction of an extension was undertaken by AC archaeology on land at Redlands, Penstone, Colebrooke, Crediton. Redlands is a Grade-II listed building. It is a 17th century plastered cob building on rubble footings and with thatched roof. The new extension lies on the northeast side of the yard on the site of a ruined outbuilding range that had previously lined this side of the yard. All of the features exposed were related to the demolished outbuildings with no evidence of earlier features. No evidence for the dating of the outbuildings was forthcoming. |
