Abstract: |
In June and August 2020, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation and watching brief along the route of the Chesterton Farm Foul Water Pipeline, Gloucestershire. During the evaluation, a total of 42 trenches was excavated. A limited watching brief was also undertaken in the northern and central parts of the site, where excavation of trial trenches was not possible. Two ditches were identified; these dated broadly to the Roman and Anglo-Saxon periods. Other features include three undated ditches, post-medieval field boundaries, a postmedieval feature, a large post-medieval quarry pit and furrows dating to the medieval and/or post-medieval periods. |
