Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological work was undertaken at the site of Woodhall Farm Steading, Edinburgh. The work comprised a historic building survey (level 2) prior to the development works and the monitoring of groundworks associated with the removal of all floor surfaces and external ground surfaces. The building survey produced a full record of the upstanding remains of the 19th century farmstead revealing that, although many of the original features survived, several later phase alterations had taken place. The subsequent monitoring was not fully completed although it was identified that one building included a cobble stone floor and in another a later modification had potentially removed its original flooring. |
