Abstract:		 Three archaeological evaluation trenches were excavated on the East Street frontage at Long Compton. One ditch, together with another ditch or pit, was revealed in trench two and another ditch was recorded in trench one and all were of probable 12th to 13th century date. These features may represent a former burbage plot boundary or subdivisions within a plot and associated activities. The northermost ditch recorded in trench one and a stone wall in trench two appear to coincide with boundaries shown on maps from 1885-1922 but are otherwise undated.
