Abstract: |
A barn at New Ing was recorded, along with a detached single-storey outbuilding nearby. The barn forms a range of four main historic phases, of which the earliest is probably late 18th century, and the latest, circa 1900. The range began as a four-bay combination barn, in which survives an oak-framed shippon, and which was extended by a double shippon with hayloft over at the south end, while later additions at the north end include a small cartshed. |
