Abstract: |
A barn lying to the north of Fooden was recorded for CWS Farms Ltd, to fulfil a condition of planning permission for conversion. The barn is believed to date from about 1800, and seems to have functioned in a fashion typical for a combination barn, but is distinguished by its hipped roof and front elevation. The latter incorporates a pair of blind or false doorways together with circular forking holes, suggesting it was built by an estate owner concerned with architectural display, albeit to a modest degree. |
