Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was maintained during the excavation of footing trenches for a replacement extension at The Yews, Ringer, East Sussex on the 1st June 2011. The excavations produced evidence for past activity in the form of pottery sherds dating to both the Medieval and Post Medieval periods. The ground had been badly disturbed by the construction of a milk cellar in the late 19th century and its subsequent demolition, together with a later extension on this part of the site.
