Abstract: |
In December 2010 an archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out at the premises of the Lord Rodney Public House, Two Mile Hill Road, St George, Bristol. A building is cartographically depicted in this location from the late 18th century. The Lord Rodney Inn is listed in the 1842 St George Tithe apportionment. Numerous alterations have been carried out to the building which is predominantly 19th century, but may have a late 18th-century core. No evidence was found to suggest significant below-ground archaeological remains on this site. |
