Abstract: |
Disarticulated bones were recovered from all the test pits and in a french drain, and returned to the church for reburial. Test pit 3 revealed a large faced stone, perhaps part of the church tower foundations. A soakaway uncovered five graves, a drain uncovered a brick crypt, and a new path revealed two more crypts. Apart from the human bone, and few fragments of undatable tile, just two sherds of medieval pottery were recorded, a clay pipe stem, and a few fragments of coffin furniture were retained on site. |
