Abstract: |
Three farm buildings were recorded at Manor Farm, Digby in advance of their conversion to residential use. All three buildings were constructed in limestone with pantile roofs (in the case of Building 2, indicated by associated debris from the collapsed roof). The buildings, which are all visible on late 19th century maps, comprised a threshing barn (Building 1 ) of probable early 19th century date, the collapsed building (Building 2) interpreted as a possible cartshed, and a probable cattle shelter (Building 3) fitted as as a cowhouse in the 20th century. The layout of the farmstead indicated an evolutionary development rather than a planned origin. |
