Abstract: |
An archaeological building survey and watching brief was carried out by Oakford Archaeology between January and August 2018 at No. 80-82 Ebrington Street, Plymouth, Devon. The site was occupied by two Handcraft huts with imitation façades and built shortly after the end of the war. Detailed examination of these has indicated that the buildings are largely of two phases. The original phase is the construction of the huts with their shop front sometime in early 1948, while the second phase, perhaps dating to the late 20th or early 21st century, involved a number of changes and alterations. The groundworks uncovered no archaeologically significant deposits. |
