Abstract:		 An archaeological desk based assessment and watching brief was undertaken by CFA Archaeology Ltd on land scheduled for sewage pipe improvements and the installation of new underground storage chambers at Warrington Road, Wigan during April 2013. Along with the desk based assessment, the excavation of a series of six test pits were monitored by a qualified archaeologist. No early archaeological features were encountered during the watching brief, with only the remains of a 19th?? century cellar noted.
