Abstract: |
Historic building recording was undertaken on three surviving ancillary structures associated with the Nithbank Royal Infirmary. These structures - all built between 1870 and 1900 - comprised the North Lodge, the Occupational Health Hub (formerly the Mortuary) and the Social Care Hub (formerly the Infectious Diseases Ward, later converted into nurses' accomodation. While the North Lodge retained some original features, the former Mortuary and Infectious Diseases Ward had been extensively remodelled internally, and now had very few original features surviving. Externally, however, all three buildings retained much of their original character.. |
