Abstract:		 In June 2009 Archaeological Solutions (AS) conducted archaeological monitoring and recording at 144 Bridgewater Road, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire (SP 9845 0866). The monitoring and recording was commissioned by Mr Neil Brown, and was undertaken in compliance with a planning condition attached to the approval of a residential extension of an existing house. The construction trench for the modern house was revealed during the monitoring and recording. Despite the potential for remains of prehistoric, Roman and medieval date, as indicated by the site's location in an Area of Archaeological Significance, no archaeological features or finds were present.
