Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 3.2 hectares of agricultural land. The survey has identified a former field boundary and possible drove way, which appear to be an extension of the scheduled Roman field system to the west of the site (OX 119). Further linear anomalies and pit features may also relate to the scheduled monument, however these could equally be agricultural or natural in origin. Ridge and furrow cultivation across the site suggests that the area has been used for agricultural purposes since the medieval period. The remaining anomalies are modern in origin, relating to ferrous objects and fencing. |
