Abstract: |
Monitoring of hand excavated trench measuring less than 1.20m square. No archaeologically significant deposits or features recorded Although the site lies within an archaeologically sensitive area close to the Roman fort and associated vicus the limited scope of the intervention meant that no archaeologically significant deposits or features were recorded. The earliest deposit recorded is likely to represent garden soil associated with the 20th century house prior to the construction of the existing conservatory. All deposits above this were associated with the construction of the conservatory and patio in the late 20th century. |
