Abstract: |
Summer Fields School in Oxford, close to the bank of the River Cherwell, lies amidst a scatter of probable prehistoric archaeological features known from crop-marks, which have been noted from aerial photographs. It is also the location of a number of Pagan Anglo-Saxon inhumations with grave goods, found in 1898 during the construction and development. No further remains have been reported in numerous construction programmes which have taken place since then. Proposed new construction works at the school have the potential to uncover related remains. |
