Abstract: |
The site of the former Boys School at Solly Street is being redeveloped, including the construction of a new building along the west side of the existing standing building. In order to establish the presence or absence of archaeological deposits on the site of the proposed new building, three test pits were monitored to determine the level of survival of in-situ remains. No evidence was observed in the test pits on land off Solly Street, Sheffield, to indicate the survival of archaeological deposits within the watching brief area and no finds were recovered. Extensive modern construction works had truncated all deposits down to the level of natural geology. |
