Abstract: |
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Scottish and Southern Energy - Power Distribution, to undertake an archaeological watching brief at Church View Barn, Oxfordshire. The Watching Brief revealed no evidence for human remains either in situ or redeposited. Evidence suggestive of the presence of a former water-source and possibly a waterlogged area was revealed in part of the trench. The adjacent 19th/early 20th century road-way may have been deliberately raised to avoid flooding. No significant archaeological features or deposits were observed. |
