Abstract: |
The watching brief monitored the excavation of six trial pits for drainage works undertaken at intervals across the carriageway and the existing verges adjacent to Middlebridge Road. The watching brief was successful in showing that no archaeological features are present within the monitored trial pits. The results confirm that the drainage works will have little to no impact on any archaeological remains within the site, and that no remains will be damaged by the drainage. The works have confirmed that modern made ground deposits overlay alluvial deposits observed within Trial pits 1 and 2. |
