Wessex Archaeology were commissioned by the Atlas Planning Group, Salisbury on behalf of the client, to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording (AMR) during the construction of a horse walker and an archaeological evaluation prior to the construction of a canter track on existing equestrian land at Cholderton House, Cholderton, Wiltshire SP4 0DW. A total of six 30 m long evaluation trenches were excavated across the designated 'cut' area for the canter track. No archaeological features of deposits were identified. The excavation of the horse walker and associated service trenches were all monitored. No archaeological features or deposits were identified. The AMR was undertaken 1,2,5,9,10 March and the evaluation was undertaken on 25 March 2021. No archaeological features of deposits were identified.
