Abstract: |
Partial excavation to reveal the full height of the structure. Measured and photographic survey. Background research. A small mass concrete structure built to a non-standard pattern, almost certainly by the residents of two adjoining semi-detached houses. These were built after the First World War as part of a scheme to encourage returning servicemen and others to take up smallholding. The top of the shelter was cast over a section of roof taken from a railway brake van. |
