The aims of this project as defined in the approved Method Statement (Kaye 2022) were: • To establish the date, nature and extent of activity or occupation within the development area • To establish the relationship of any remains found to the surrounding contemporary landscape 2.2 Methods The methods used were as follows: • The archaeological monitoring of all groundworks • The analysis of the results of the archaeological work with provisions for subsequent production of a report(s) and/or publication(s) of these results and an archive Four soakaways and associated drainage trenches were excavated around the churchyard and a total of 49 articulated and partially articulated skeletons were uncovered. The concentration of individuals within the soakaways shows that the cemetery is heavily populated, particularly to the southwest. Individuals of all ages were encountered; however, the articulated and partially articulated remains of children were largely absent to the north of the church.
