Abstract:		 This report describes the results of an Archaeological Watching Brief was carried out by MAP Archaeological Practice in January 2017 prior to the construction of a garage at Melgate House, Green Dyke Lane, Slingsby, North Yorkshire (SE 70587 74865). Turf and topsoil were removed using a 360o mechanical excavator. Mechanical excavation equipment was used under direct archaeological supervision down to the first significant archaeological horizon or natural subsoil. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were present within the development area.
