Senior Management

Professor Julian Richards

Director

Julian has overall responsibility for the ADS and Internet Archaeology, representing the ADS and Internet Archaeology at key strategic events, in key partnerships, and high-profile projects.

Dr Tim Evans

Deputy Director

Tim has responsibility for all day-to-day operations of the ADS and Internet Archaeology. Tim also maintains and develops key partnerships (UK focus), managing ADS DAC responsibilities and strategically important projects, including HERALD, the redevelopment of the OASIS system.

Jo Tozer

HSDS Service Manager

Jo is responsible for the establishment and operational delivery of the HSDS for users and depositors. Liaising with funders and partners, Jo manages the strategic development of this new service and represents the HSDS at national and international level.

Collections

Dr Katie Green

Head of Collections Development

Katie is responsible for promoting the ADS digital preservation services, providing deposit advice and developing strategies and costings for depositing data with the ADS. Katie is also responsible for maintaining and developing key partnerships and projects with a collections focus.

Dr Richard Lee

Collections Development Officer

Richard researchs and expands ADS partnerships and its income streams by extending its accredited digital archive service to the archaeological profession, and other sectors.

Valeria Carrillo Garza

Collections Development Manager (HSDS)

Valeria is responsible for promoting the HSDS digital preservation services, providing deposit advice and developing key relationships. Valeria is the key contact for RICHeS-funded projects, helping to ensure that data has a secure archival home and supporting users of RICHeS facilities and collections to deposit their data.

Olivia Foster

Digital Archives Supervisor

Olivia is responsible for accessioning and archiving datasets deposited with the ADS, creation of Special Collections for archives (including database interfaces) and providing supervision to the archives team by overseeing the implementation of policies that ensure collections are managed according to best archival and curatorial practice.

Becky Hirst

Digital Archives Officer

Becky is responsible for accessioning and archiving datasets deposited with the ADS, creation of Special Collections for archives (including database interfaces), providing technical advice to Depositors, and raising awareness of ADS collections and services.

Kieron Niven

Standards Manager

Kieron has oversight for the development and maintenance of appropriate data and technical metadata standards, including the Guides to Good Practice, to ensure that our standards reflect the needs of the designated community and best practice for preservation.

Evelyn Curl

Data Standards Officer (HSDS)

Evelyn is responsible for developing and monitoring data and technical metadata standards for the Heritage Science Data Service (HSDS), providing guidance for depositors, advising on file formats and metadata, and participating in data curation.

Jamie Bradley

Lead Applications Developer

Jamie is responsible for improving the ADS applications stack and enhancement of services. Jamie also leads the ADS team of developers in evolving best practices and skills training.

Dr Paul Young

Software Engineer

Paul is responsible for maintaining the ADS systems stack and developing and maintaining the ADS Collection Management System, large applications, and providing oversight of technical standards.

Go Sugimoto

Linked Open Data Technical Architect

Go specialises in data science, management, and knowledge representation within Cultural Heritage and Digital Humanities. He leads the development of Linked Data services at Heritage Science Data Service (HSDS).

Mark Oxley

Applications Developer

Mark is responsible for developing the HSDS front-end applications, and providing technical expertise and leadership to the development of strategic HSDS services and systems.

Jo Gilham

Applications Developer

Jo is responsible for developing large applications, principally OASIS, and providing technical expertise and leadership to the development of strategic services and systems.

Adam Fox

Applications Developer

Adam is responsible for developing engaging front end web applications and interfaces, such as image collections and reference catalogues.

Patrick McHugh

Database Developer

Patrick is responsible for designing, building, and administering new and existing databases that underpin front-end applications and interfaces for the delivery of data on the ADS and HSDS websites.

Kieren McGill

Web Developer

Kieren is responsible for developing engaging front end web applications and interfaces, such as image collections and reference catalogues.

Jamie Geddes

Systems Officer

Jamie assists in maintaining and optimising digital infrastructure, with a focus on virtual machine and database systems.

Research and Publications

Dr Holly Wright

Research Projects Manager

Holly manages and implements the ADS contribution to a range of major international research projects, including ARIADNEplus and SEADDA. Holly is also responsible for maintaining and developing key partnerships with an International and Higher Education focus.

Dr Sarah Middle

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Sarah provides research and project management support across several major European research projects, including ARTEMIS, AUTOMATA and ECHOES.

Dr Émilie Page-Perron

Research Associate

Émilie is the lead for metadata workflows as part of the ATRIUM project: working on enhancements for enriching ADS metadata, integration of controlled vocabularies and gazetteers, mapping to metadata standards and ontologies, and data wrangling, cleaning, and transformation.

Judith Winters

Editor of Internet Archaeology

Judith is the Editor for the open access online e-journal Internet ArchaeologyInternet Archaeology is archived by the ADS shares the same infrastructure and management.

Training and Communications

Dr Nicky Garland

Training and Communications Manager

Nicky manages the design and delivery of training for ADS depositors and end-users in ADS resources and areas of expertise. Nicky is also responsible for overseeing the ADS communications group.

Grace McCulloch

Communications and Training Assistant

Grace supports the development and maintenance of content for both the ADS and HSDS website and social media. Grace also assists in the development of training materials.

Ewan is the Training Officer for the Heritage Science Data Service (HSDS), where he is responsible for designing and delivering training to users of the service.

Jen Weldon

Finance and Administration Assistant

Jen supports the day-to-day administration and operational delivery of the ADS, providing service support to depositors and the Collections team, managing invoicing processes and other financial transactions.

Lydia Mayfield

Finance and Administration Assistant

Lydia supports the day-to-day administration and operational delivery of the HSDS, ensuring accurate management of research grant finances and acting as Programme Administrator for the HSDS Small Grants.

Anett Mladoniczki

Anett supports the day-to-day administration and operational delivery of the ADS, providing project and service support, managing invoicing processes, and contributing to effective office management and internal operations.
