425 Accidental Compression fracture (vertebrae) view

The inferior, anterior aspect of the fourth thoracic centera is wedged and the intervertebral surface is remodelled with porous bone. Osteophytes are present throughout the thoracic spine. Possible compression fracture casued by mechanical failure of the centrum due to hyperflexion of the spine through Indirect forces following extreme back movements , or fall onto the feet or buttocks (McRae 2003, 351; Galloway 1996, 112).
