This collection comprises of reports, images, photogrammetry, videos, vector and GIS data from a historic landscape study and setting recording at Wendover Dean, Buckinghamshire, commisioned by Fusion and carried out by Wardell Armstrong in February 2020.


Project Summary

Wardell Armstrong were commissioned by Fusion to undertake a historic landscape study and setting recording of the landscape at Wendover Dean, Buckinghamshire. The study area is centred on the non-designated asset of Durham Farm and encompasses designated assets at Wendoverdean Farm and Upper Wendoverdean Farm to the west, and the non-designated farm, Strawberry Hill Farm to the east. The route of Phase 1 of the High Speed Two (HS2) railway passes through this landscape and Durham Farm is to be demolished; other construction activities will bring about changes to the landscape that will impact upon the setting of the designated assets at Wendoverdean Farm and Upper Wendoverdean Farm.


Re-Use Value Statement

This report provides a history of the landscape at Wendover Dean and an analysis of the nature of the contribution of the landscape to the significance of heritage assets encompassed within it. The document identifies those aspects of the landscape including views that contribute to significance and identifies also those detracting elements. The report includes an assessment of how setting will survive following the construction of HS2. It’s a detailed documentary and LiDAR record of the landscape for future analysis.
