Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. Overview

The project was desk-based, comprising an assessment and synthesis of existing data and targeted enhancement of the Worcestershire Historic Environment Record (HER). The aggregate resources of the county and areas of extraction have been defined and mapped, and the impact of past, present and potential future extraction programmes on the archaeological resource has been summarised.

The digital archive

The digital archive currently consists of the following resources:

In addition to the reports contained within the digital archive the project also produced the following outputs:

Lectures
Project hosted a conference:
Aggregates Archaeology Resource Assessments of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire (25 November 2006 at University of Worcester).

All papers given at the conference were based on the draft project ouptuts of which two Worcester-specific papers were provide by the project manager.
Other
Members of South Worcestershire Archaeological Group participated in and undertook training in Geophysical survey (led by Geophysical Surveys Bradford), metal detecting (led by Dean Crawford of Metodet) and earthwork survey and excavation (led by WHEAS staff)
