Iron Age or Romano British Round ( Enclosure ) at Foage

Description:  A roughly circular enclosure c35m internal diameter, with fairly substantial banks, up to 2.0m wide, 0.8m high. No sign of ditch but area heavily overgrown. West downhill side damaged by later field boundary. Possible that any original entrance would have been here. If a round, a defended farming hamlet, of any date from Late Iron Age to Late Romano-British, it is towards the smaller end of the known size-range (see Johnson and Rose 1982, fig 3). Relationships with nearby field systems unclear. Irregular fields to E, S and W.
