Description:
Smaller, although still massively-built hut circle, possibly unenclosed originally and subsequently surrounded by enclosure wall (102518*1). Hut circle consists of a cleared, fairly level, interior surrounded by a turf and stone wall in which many large stones are visible. There is good evidence of inner and outer face construction; an arc of very large faced boulders survives around northern sector. Outer facings are visible around perimeter in western, north-eastern and south- western sectors. Medium-sized stones of rubble core are visible over rest of bank. A well-defined entrance in southern sector is indicated by a 0.80 metre wide gap flanked by faced slabs.
Diameter: 3.50m x 3.0m internal; 8.0m x 7.0m external x H 1.0m
Orientation: South Archaeological Comments - Site:102518*5 Butler (1994, fig 49.8: C) confirms southern entrance of this hut circle.
