Site of the Turkish Tent, Post-Medieval Folly, Stourhead


Description:  Site of an Oval tent probably constructed from painted canvas, which used to be on a small mound on the path called the sand walk. From this location there was a view to the west of the Pantheon and the Temple of Apollo. The mound on which the tent stood was levelled by Colt Hoare (Annals). No remains can be seen today.
