Description: Cornwall Arch. Unit project no.: 8067. Watching brief undertaken along the line of a South West Water pipeline. A geophysical survey was also carried out. Archaeological features observed include ditches, some from medieval field systems, stone alignments, pits, post holes, flint scatters and enclosures. Three significant site were discovered at Lanhainsworth; two ring ditches, a substantial ditch (possibly part of a later prehistoric enclosed settlement or round), and two substantial (probably medieval) pits. The work was funded by South West Water. The excavation of a Romano-British enclosure or round at Little Quoit Farm was part of this overall project; see UID 1300220 for details.
