Abstract: | Discusses an impending crisis for the storage and conservation of archaeological finds archives, presaged by the Museum of London's decision to suspend acceptance of finds from new fieldwork in the capital. The importance for research of common documentation standards is highlighted. A possible way forward is proposed in the development of regional centres that also serve to disseminate archaeological community (on the lines of York Archaeological Resource Centre). |
