Abstract: Patricia Connor, who studied archaeology at Bristol and Cambridge universities, describes her involvement in the creation of a museum at Fishbourne Roman palace in West Sussex, where for the first time newspaper techniques were applied to interpretation. Working for the Sunday Times, she later went to Turkey and Egypt on archaeological assignments. LD
