| Abstract: | Conditions for optimum results with the Oxford accelerator: a maximum of five measurements on various sediment preparations is required. If a radiocarbon date is rejected by the archaeologist, 'what is wrong is the assumption that the measurement can always be expressed as an age', not the measurement itself. |
