Abstract: NS 713718. Aerial discovery of a 0.4ha Roman fort with annexe, S of Bar hill, led to excavation which produced some evidence for Flavian occupation. Agricola's garrisons did not take quite the same line as the Antonine wall, but Castlecary and Cadder remain likely sites for Agricolan foundations. D G
