Abstract: Reports on an excavation within a garden in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, close to the historic All Saints' Church. The land once formed part of the grounds to Leighton House, which may have originated in the 16th or early 17th century and was demolished in the 1950s. An apparent feature was found that could have been the edge of a ditch or a quarry pit, but the evidence from limited excavation and a ground penetrating radar survey was inconclusive. The bulk of the datable finds recovered were from the early 18th century, suggesting rubbish dispersal from the occupation of Leighton House or other adjacent properties. LD
