Abstract: On-the Coulters Garage site, Priory Road, a large timber ?granary had been built in later 2nd century on a formerly marshy site; quantities of burnt grain etc were recovered. A century or more later a substantial stone building followed: a case is made out for interpreting the site as an official collection and storage point for annona militaris. It was demolished and robbed in ?later 4th. Environmental work indicated the landscape changes.
