Abstract: The article describes the history of the substantial villa site at Keynsham, near Bristol, including the destruction of most of the site's evidence through its use as a cemetery from 1877 onwards, compounded by poor recording of finds and features during the excavations carried out in 1922--4 of the remaining areas.
