Abstract: Excavation on the Redfearns site in Fishergate of some 250 Anglian features, and sieving of 40 tonnes of soil, has yielded valuable evidence of a little-known phase of York's history, including porcupine sceattas, butchered bones, a large post-built hall, craft work, and trade goods.
