Abstract: Excavations on sectors of the 700m cursus failed to find any entrances, though the east end contained a ?circular posthole feature with Mortlake pottery. A mile away, at Springfield Lyons, was a fortified settlement of LBA, a pagan AS cemetery, and a late Saxon village (see 88/1609). At Lofts Farm Maldon is a rectilinear double-ditched LBA enclosure with a round house repeatedly rebuilt.
