Abstract: Renewed excavations 84 years after those of Pitt Rivers revealed that he had worked by sequential stripping of parallel trenches and had missed seeing postholes, pits and worked flints. Excavation on an untouched part of the site produced much occupation evidence: postholes of a circular structure, pits and other features set on platforms dug into the slope. Plans for future research are outlined.
