Abstract: Summary report on completion of work at a gravel site occupied by remains of various dates, chief among which was a farm established about a generation before AD 43 in an enclosure with two small associated cremation cemeteries. Stockraising and arable farming were attested and a head-cult was practised. Near the end of 1st century AD the farmstead was moved some distance, no longer enclosed, but still in round houses for some time before a late Roman rectangular farmhouse was built. Hedge clippings were preserved in the ditches. After a break, five timber-lined wells were dug in middle Saxon times.
