Abstract: During a watching brief a significant collection of stratified Mesolithic flints, including a late Mesolithic microlith and blade core, were recovered from Wyebridge Street and from the junction of St. James' Street and St. James' Square (SO 51073 12933). The flints came from the flood plain sands and at the latter site were sealed by a substantial layer of pebbles and sand, having the appearance of a river bank. Au/SH
