SH 456489. A substantial 12th-13th century stone-founded farmstead (parallel-set house, barn, stable, byre) had been preceded by an earlier timber building. The farm was relatively prosperous but short-lived and had a mixed regime exploiting the ridge and bog margins. Discussed in wider historical context. Iron spade, plant remains, soils.
