Abstract: |
the paper looks at the chambered cairn of Clettraval on North Uist, using it as a means for examining the shifting history of archaeological attention towards the Neolithic of the Outer Hebrides over the preceding hundred years or so. The author argues that interpretation of the monument changes along with broader changes in British Neolithic studies and broader understandings of the role of the Outer Hebrides at this time |
