Abstract: the authors argue that during the Early Bronze Age the re-use of rock art imagery was neither irrelevant nor random, but that there are specific patterns in the re-use of cup and ring art which can be regionally defined; and that this regionally consistent pattern suggests that re-use of rock art had a particular significance
