Abstract: Considers the usefulness of metal detectors for the evaluation of sites under PPG 16 procedures. The paper is illustrated with case studies from Suffolk: the Scole-Dicklebugh bypass (RB roadside linear settlement), Little Bealings (BA/AS settlement), and Scole (RB settlement).
