Abstract: Begins by noting that the return of British troops from Germany has increased pressure on the archaeologically sensitive Salisbury Plain Training Area. Concern is then expressed over the fate of a number of historic buildings which have become dilapidated in MoD care and which are now being offered for sale as a result of Government cost-cutting policies. The Woolwich Arsenal and the Peninsula Barracks receive specific mention.
