Abstract: |
Excavations at the site of Jubilee Square in Reading revealed the remains of a medieval tilery which was composed of a kiln, well, floors and extraction pits. The last firing of the kiln dates to 1365 and 1400 after which the site was abandoned. Subsequent activity is indicated by the presence of a section of the 1642-1644 Civil War ditch and by 16th to19th century pitting and drainage activity. |
